We're home! After three long days at Children's Memorial, we're back home again. We all got some sleep last night, though not quite enough. We continue to learn about the diet as we go. What we learned this morning: it really DOES take a long time to weigh and prepare these meals, especially with a very hungry and weepy boy around! (Rule #1 Always have breakfast ready the night before). Whipped cream gets disgusting pretty fast when you have to eat a lot of it. (Rule #2 Find ways to hide the cream--adding blue food coloring isn't really a good solution).
Getting him to take his medicine continues to be a problem. We'll keep trying, though. I'll post more as I have time.

I can't imagine how hard this has to be for Micah (not really understanding the changes) and for you having to watch him. Hopefully he adjusts quickly and the diet becomes more routine for you and for him.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you got home okay...may you be given all the patience, wisdom and creativity you need to carry out this diet and to tend to Micah's needs.
